So, you might look at these pictures and think these guys are
too young to play the blues. Why should I come see them? Because
they are really good and they are the players who will be performing
the Blues for years to come. Each of these young players is passionate
about the music, has been playing for many years and has been
performing at concerts and festivals for several years. You can
check out their music on their myspace sites. You will be impressed!
TJ Moore I've been playing guitar since age 8 and performing
since I was 10. I originally played rockabilly and for the past
3 years I've been exploring and loving the blues! I play the
Delta blues. I moved to Oregon from Nebraska last year. In Omaha
I was a member of the Omaha Blues Society and played with and
did workshops in the BluesEd program. I am now a member of the
Cascade Blues Association. I've played for the Children's Miracle
Network, company picnics, schools, the opening of the Holland
Performing Arts Center (Omaha), on tv, opened every month for
the 'Playing With Fire' concert series in 2005, arts festivals,
many bars, and the Waterfront Blues Festival. I've been on HBO
for my music and in the Wall Street Journal for my passion of
music from 2 and 3 generations ago. This year I played at Vancouver's
MicroBlues Festival with Kinzel & Hyde and the Waterfront
Blues Festival. Local musicians I have played with include Robbie
Laws, Kinzel & Hyde, Ben Rice and the Youth of Blues and
the Danny Hay Davis Band, Kenny Blue Ray and Tony Coleman. I'm
just getting my feet wet in the Portland area and am lucky to
have some great connections. I have recently been awarded a full
scholarship to the Port Townsend Country Blues Workshop and have
been invited to Clarksdale, Mississippi for Pinetop Perkins'
homecoming. One of the best music I've had was getting to meet
privately with blues greats Pinetop Perkins and Hubert Sumlin.
I've also sat to talk with Pete Best (the original drummer for
The Beatles) before his show. My hobbies are researching vintage
guitars & amps. Ask me ANYTHING!

Gunnar Roads Gunnar Roads (aka:
Alexander Gunnar Rolfs) was born August 18, 1994 in West Palm
Beach, Florida and moved to Vancouver, WA a year later. Soon
after laying his fingers on his first guitar at the ripe old
age of 9, it became clearly evident that Gunnar was born with
immense natural ability. The Gunnar Roads Band is the culmination
of Gunnar’s passion
to be the best he can be, and the good fortune of making friends
with some outstanding like minded musicians along the way. Gunnar
Roads and The Gunnar Roads Band is making quite a name for themselves
in the great NW as they continue to entertain audiences whenever
possible. They have all played together and individually at a
variety of venues throughout the Northwest. Often Gunnar Roads
and the Band get the opportunity to accompany or open up for
other well known regional and national talents, like: Norman
Sylvester, Geoffrey Castle, Robbie Laws, Ben Rice, Gary Meziere,
Robert Carson, Gary Fontaine, Ward Stroud, Danny Hay Davis, Randy
Oxford, Sista Monica, and many others. The Gunnar Roads Band
has been included on the schedules of many of the region's Blues
Festivals.
